Outstanding World Championships for our Rossignol Heroes
Riders in this news
That’s a wrap for these World Championships after 2 weeks of races!
We would like to congratulate our Rossignol Team and all the people who are working around for these beautiful results. We are so proud of our Band of Heroes achievements!
PETRA VLHOVA: Queen of Slovakia (1 GOLD, 1 SILVER, 1 BRONZE)
At only 23 years old, Petra Vlhova came back from Are with 3 medals. First, she offered her country the first world medal with Silver in Super Combined and then the first world title with Gold in Giant Slalom! And finally, she won the bronze medal in slalom.
HENRIK KRISTOFFERSEN: Learn to be patient (1 GOLD)
Henrik Kristoffersen is now world champion! Our Norwegian hero totally killed the 2nd round of the giant slalom to win his first world medal.
MICHAEL MATT (1 SILVER, 1 SILVER WITH AUSTRIA)
After winning the silver medal with Team Austria (with two other Heroes: Katharina Liensberger & Christian Hirschbuehl), Michael Matt took 2nd place in the Slalom between his two teammates Marcel Hirscher & Marco Schwarz.
STEFAN HADALIN (1 SILVER)
Stefan Hadalin has shown that he is ready to play in the big league. No World Cup podiums, but a silver medal in alpine combined.
Stéphane Mougin, Groupe Rossignol Racing Director:
“The results of these World Championships are very good with 6 medals including 2 World Champion titles in Giant Slalom. This shows us that our equipment performs well in specific snow conditions like in Are. The only downside is on the speed events where we would have liked to have more medals but we were not very lucky with the weather and still we do not go far with Christof Innerhofer 4th and Nadia Fanchini 5th in Super G. The brand has been also well represented in Team Event. These are successful World Championships where the colors of the Groupe Rossignol have been largely on the front of the stage.”
